This app is a great filmmaking tool, I use it all the time on set.

As a working cinematographer, this is the one app I use all the time. Its elegant and powerful. If pCAM didnt exist, I not sure what I would do.

I have loved this app ever since the PalmPilot days. It is essential for camera assistants and helpful for DPs and operators. The amount of useful information available in this app is mind boggling. A must-have!

Think $30 bucks is a lot for an app?? Think again!! If you are even looking at this app, you are probably at the very least a hobbyist, buy most likely you are a professional photographer, director of photography or assistant cameraman. You have NOTHING in your kit that does as much as this app does that costs only $30. I’m going to run down the list of functions that it has listed just on it’s HOME SCREEN. And NOTE: all the functions that are calculated where Focal Plane size [Chip Size] matter… There is a huge library of cameras that are instantly selectable… and the Library is constantly being updated HOME SCREEN: (the parenthesis are my notes) Depth of Field Calculator Splits-Aperture Finder (split focus settings) Field of View (Really works!) Focal Length Match Relative Size Triangulate (triangulate distances between camera, subject and third point [focus puller maybe!]) Exposure Running Time to Length (frames vs frame rate vs running time vs length [film]) Shooting/Screen Time (Frame rate VS shooting time VS screen time) HMI Flicker -free [an update on the old Flicker-free table) Color Correction (color temp vs source temp vs filter) Diopter Macro Time Lapse (MY favorite- yes you can do it in your head… but this is SO much easier) Underwater Distance Scene illumination (Foot candles, distance & beam intensity) Siemens Star (right on your iPhone!) Insert slate (again… right on your iPhone!) … there’s many more… but this review is too long as it is The ASC Guide that we used to use for SOME of this info costed over $70. And you had to look up all the info through pages and pages of charts. This has everything! Changes can be made on the fly and it’s all with an awesome GRAPHIC USER INTERFACE (GUI). ALL on you Phone!! Best Wrap Gift. No one remembers the bottle of tequila you gave them… but they will always remember who gifted this to them. Buy it! you won’t regret it.

David continues to update this invaluable tool. If you are in the camera department and you are serious about your job buy this app! Its half the price of just one of the analog tools is replaces and I does soooo much more.

Ive been using pCam since it was on the Palm Pilot (probably 12 years). Its an indispensable resource for all things camera. Its every resource the camera department needs all tucked in one simple app.

I really appreciate having this app along with my shooting kit. It has so many useful tools for working with cameras.

If youre a pro, you know being quick & being right is important. This app just keeps updating, to keep up. I dont use it s lot, but when i do, its worth it

Ive bought a lot of apps over the years. Some good, some terrible, few stellar... This is one of the few. Its an amazing value to have this data at your fingertips on set. This gets used for every shoot, bar none. Buy it!

There is not a camera department shooting anywhere in the USA where this app is not present. Must have.

This app should be considered a mandatory tool for anyone involved in cinematography, just like a light meter. I can not think of an excuse to not have this on your $500 phone if you consider yourself a professional camera man. It is simple to use and the interface is straight forward. Yes it is worth it. High 5s to the developers.
